MOTION TRIO PERFORMED IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
ON 18 OCTOBER 2016, at Moscow’s DOM Culture Centre, Toccata Barbaro had its Russian premiere during an MT concert.
The piece composed by the eminent composer and accordionist Viatcheslav Semionov, which was written for and dedicated to Motion Trio, was performed before its very creator (accompanied by a group of students, the accordion class of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music).
Two days later, on 20 October 2016, Motion Trio performed in Novosibirsk as part of the INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL SIBJAZZFEST-2016 (organised annually by the NOVOSIBIRSK STATE PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY) presenting its project Sroka in Motion.
Sroka in Motion, developed together with Jacek Sroka, was launched in 2014. It had its premiere at the concert celebrating the 18th anniversary of Motion Trio at the Kraków Opera and since then has been presented to the audiences in Wrocław, Minsk (Belarus), Świnoujście and the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music. The performance in Novosibirsk was yet another spectacle featuring the compositions of Motion Trio combined with spatial animated adaptations of Jacek Sroka’s paintings created by Jarosław Migoń (grafiQa).
